Designed for Social Distance: All open areas, workspace layouts and seating arrangements inside the Y have been evaluated and redesigned where necessary to help ensure social distancing.Signage is placed prominently throughout the facility to drive awareness of this requirement.
Health Screenings and Masks: To limit possible exposure, all staff, members, and visitors are required to go through health screenings upon entering the facility for COVID-19 symptoms and possible exposure. Staff and members are required to wear masks in the facility at all times.
Contactless Transactions: We have implemented self-scan and contactless transactions to allow for limited contact entry with staff.
Clean Environment: Our staff are trained on our enhanced cleaning protocols and will be implementing them throughout the day. Each branch will also undergo deep cleaning in the evening after we close for precautionary measures. We are using Sundays as a day for continued disinfecting time. The Y has worked with sanitation experts to ensure the cleaning solutions we use are appropriate for our use and are EPA approved.
Access to PPE: Each facility will be equipped with numerous sanitizing stations where members and staff can keep their hands clean. Staff will be provided with PPE to decrease potential exposure. PPE is but is not limited to masks, gloves, and plexiglass shields where applicable.
Staggered Staff Shifts: To keep fewer people on site at one time, the Y is staggering shifts of staff and business hours have been modified.
Onboarding and Trainings: The YMCA has taken active steps to provide a safe work place by creating trainings, updating policies, and providing resources to ensure our staff are educated on working in a customer service environment.
