When you volunteer at the YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing, you provide leadership and talents that are vital to empowering people and communities to learn, grow, and thrive. Across Lansing, thousands of business leaders, community advocates, parents, teens, and individuals volunteer at the YMCA who want to give back to their community and support their neighbors volunteer at the YMCA. It is only through the support of our many volunteers and donors that we can give back to our communities. When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in bringing about meaningful change in your community. With a focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, YMCA volunteers give people of all ages and from all walks of life the resources and support they need to be healthy, confident, connected, and secure.

Sports Team Coaches

The YMCA's many youth sports teams need adults who an influence and shade kids in more than just a particular sport.Our volunteer coaches motivate and support youth in building the character strengths, skills, and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, smart life choices, and the pursuit of higher education and goals.

Branch Support

Each of the Lansing Y’s branches has specific opportunities for members to volunteer their time and talents. From sprucing up the gardens in the spring to greeting participants at a fundraising event, volunteers are essential to branch operations.

Each year our YMCA reaches out into the community seeking charitable contributions to help us our Y meet our mission of serving all who need us.
