When you volunteer at the YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing, you provide leadership and talent that are vital to empowering people and communities to learn, grow and thrive. Across Lansing, thousands of business leaders, community advocates, parents, teens and individuals who want to give back and support their neighbors volunteer at the YMCA. That’s because in our community we have the presence and partnerships to both promise and deliver positive, personal and social change. It is only through the support of our many volunteers and donors that we are able to give back to our communities. When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in bringing about meaningful change in your community. With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, YMCA volunteers give men, women and children of all ages and from all walks of life the resources and support they need to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.
Coach our sports teams and teach many of our classes. Motivate and support youth in building the character strengths, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health, smart life choices, and the pursuit of higher education and goals.
Take an active role in shaping the policies and direction of your Y by providing leadership on our Branch Advisory Boards and other committees.
Each year our Y reaches out into the community seeking charitable contributions to help our Y meet our mission of serving all who need us. Join our team of volunteer fundraisers in the effort to ensure the Y is accessible to all members of the community.
Participate in opportunities to give back and support neighbors. The Y host several charitable events throughout the year that provide an easy way to make a small donation of your time.
Advocate for the YMCA’s efforts to influence policies and initiatives that positively impact societal issues of importance to our community.
