1. When is the Y closed?

All branches are subject to closures on the days listed below. Holidays that have an * indicate some branches have modified hours on that holiday. Please contact us for modified hours.

2. What time is the Y open?

3. How do I know if the Y is closed due to bad weather or Holidays?

We announce all closings on the homepage of our website. Notifications also go out through our social media channels, via email, and through our texting alerts. To sign up for texting alerts. Text YMCA to 877-321-2949 to receive texting alerts on closures and registration dates.

4. I am not a member, Can I visit the Y for just the day?

Yes, we offer day passes. Visit the YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing locations as a guest of a member and enjoy our fitness centers, pools, group exercise classes and growing community.

Becoming a Member

1. How can I join the Y?

You can join by coming into any YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing locations. You will need to bring photo id and form of payment to sign up for a membership.

2. How does payment work?

Membership includes a one-time joining fee and monthly dues. Most members pay dues through a monthly bank draft via checking, savings, debit, or credit card but you can also pay for your membership in full every six months. If you give an email address when you sign up for a Y membership you will have access to an online account. Learn more about your online account and registration here.

3. Do you offer Silver Sneakers?

The YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing offers Silver Sneakers®, the nation’s leading exercise program for active older adults who are Medicare eligible.  This innovative program provides opportunities for seniors to improve their fitness, health, and well-being.Health plans around the country offer this program to people who are eligible for Medicare or to group retirees. SilverSneakers® provides a FREE fitness center membership to the YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing.

4. Does the Y offer financial assistance for membership and programs?

Yes, financial assistance is available for a membership and/or programs. You can apply by filling out an application that can be picked up at any of the four branches or online. Please speak to a Welcome Center staff at your local Y for more information or visit our website by clicking here

5. Do you have any memberships specific for people in the military?

The YMCA of Lansing participates in the Military Outreach Initiative offered through the Armed Services YMCA's contract with the Department of Defense. We participate in the YMCA Member program only. Please visit the Armed Services YMCA website to learn more about the program.

All applications must be submitted to the Armed Services YMCA following the instructions on their website.

6. What are your amenities at each location?

1. As a member, can I go to any YMCA location in Lansing?

Yes, as a member of the YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing, your privileges extend to all three of our membership branches.

2. How do I view schedules for activities and programs at a certain location?

Go to our Programs tab on our website and you can view schedules on the designated program page.

3. My membership is currently suspended. How do I un-suspend or extend the suspension?

Please contact any of our branches or come in and our Welcome Center staff will be able to assist you.

4. How do I cancel my membership?

At the Y, there are no contracts so you can cancel anytime.  If you need to cancel your membership you can do so by visiting any of the branches and this request can be processed up until closing of the day prior to your draft. If your need is to cancel a person’s membership that is on your membership, you can do that any of the branches and it will take effect at the end of the membership month. If you have a paid in full six month membership, there is no cancellation option.

5. How do you access Virtual Y?

You must have an active YMCA membership to access classes. Please note, when they join the YMCA, access will be granted within 1 week of joining as our system will need to update active members on file. Click Here to access

6. Do you offer locker rentals?

Locker Rentals are available at all 3 YMCA locations. Please contact our Member Service staff for pricing. 

7. How do I sign up for a personal training sessions?

To sign up for a in-person personal training session, please fill out our personal training inquiry form and one of our trainers will reach out to you. Click Here for information and inquiry form

8. How do I access my YMCA online account?

How do I create or access it?

  • If you have an email on file with the YMCA of Lansing you already have an active online account.
  • However, if you haven't accessed your online account in the new system please click forgot password to receive an email with a temporary password.
  • If you're a member or program participant who doesn't have an email on file with us please contact your home branch, and someone can assist you in getting your email added, which will activate your online account.
  • If you're new to the YMCA of Lansing please create a new account.

1. Is the YMCA a nonprofit?

The YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing is a nonprofit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service with a 501(c)3 charitable designation. All donations made to the YMCA of Metropolitan Lansing are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. 

2. What is Camp PaWaPi?

Camp PaWaPi is a 53 acre camp ground located in Williamston, Mi. We offer summer day camp programming for ages 5-12. Camp PaWaPi has amenities such as low ropes course, zip lining, archery, canoeing and more! For more information, please fill out our inquiry form.

3. What is Mystic Lake YMCA Camp?

Mystic Lake YMCA Camp is a 600 acre camp with a 90 acre private lake in the village of Lake, MI, just 15 minutes west of Clare. It offers full accommodations for overnight camp and a variety of camp programs designed to provide an enriching and memorable experience. It is accredited by the American Camp Association, meaning we meet the highest standards in camping services like health, safety, personnel, transportation, and facilities!
