Join the Lansing YMCA staff to learn the lifesaving skills needed to be an American Red Cross Certified Lifeguard! During this certification course you will learn rescue and surveillance skills, first aid, CPR/AED, and other skills needed to work as a professional lifeguard. This blended learning class allows participants to do the course work at home and the hands-on work with peers at the Oak Park YMCA.

Time: 5:00 PM–9:00 PM (weekday evenings) Attendance is required for all scheduled class dates.
Oak Park YMCA Location
Class Dates:
- Friday, May 29 (5:00 PM–9:00 PM)
- Saturday, May 30 (10:00 AM–6:00 PM)
- Sunday, May 31 (10:00 AM–6:00 PM)
- Friday, June 5 (5:00 PM–9:00 PM)

Attendance is required for all scheduled class dates.
Prerequisites (All Locations)
Participants must be able to:
- Swim 200 yards
- Tread water for 2 minutes using legs only
- Retrieve a 10 lb object from the deepest part of the pool
