Please welcome the new leadership team at Mystic Lake: Darin Borgstadter, Executive Director and Taylor Harris, Program Director.
We are excited to have these professionals at the helm of Mystic as it begins its 99th year! Together they will bring new ideas, new programs and new perspectives balanced with the traditions that have kept Mystic Lake thriving for all these years.
Our new Executive Director, Darin Borgstadter, comes to Michigan from the beautiful state of Oregon where he worked at Oregon State University. He has over 30 years of experience in overnight camping industry and has worked in some of the largest resident camps in the country in various camp leadership roles. Joining Darin at camp is his wife Holly who he has been married to for 11 years and his dog Gus, a greater swiss mountain dog! He has two sons and is a proud grandpa of two grandkids, Sophie (7) and Shane (5).
Message from Darin: “I am beyond excited to join the Mystic Lake Camp family as I have heard such magical stories about how camp has been a life changing experience for so many! I look forward to working with staff, campers, donors, volunteers, and community members to share the passion I have for camp and ensure this special place continues to be tradition for families in the years to come.”
Our new Program Director, Taylor Harris, has been a part of the Mystic Lake family for 18 years as both a camper and staff member. She has held several job titles including Camp Counselor, Waterfront Director and most recently Operation Specialist. She is a recent graduate from Central Michigan University where she majored in Recreation, Park and Leisure with a concentration in Event Planning and Management.
Please give a HUGE Mystic Welcome to Darin and Taylor! We are thrilled to have them join us and lead us through another memorable summer for our campers! Summer 2024 will be here before we know it! Don`t forget to register for Family Camp, where the whole family camp get in on the fun of camp!
